Here's a blatently illegal shot of the Scottish
Crown Jewels and the Stone..
Part
of the Great Hall. The walls are covered with swords, spears and loads
of other cool things. It was driving me CRAZY that I couldn't touch them.

We then headed down to the series of parks that
surround the base of the
castle rock.

We had found out earlier that these parks are so
green because it actuallty used to be
a series of moatish lochs that surrounded the castle. Well, that and they
used to throw all
the bodies from the castle into them too. Adds to the green-ness.
Not far is the Sir Walter Scott monument.
It's the largest monument dedicated to a writer.
And pretty cool looking to boot.
