We arrived early in Barcelona. We'd come to the sorrowful decision that we would
only be spending a day here. Barcelona's is worthy of a lifetime of exploration, but
due to funds we were going to have to settle for about 14 hours. But oh, the things we
did in those 14 hours. First stop was the Picasso Museum.

This quote is an excerpt from one of Pablo's journals. A particularly wonderful
definition of art. If you can't read it... then try harder. Hey, no one said art was easy.

Quite an amazing place, Barcelona. This is some church.

And this is Carl's somber photograph of the lonely Spanish cello player
pouring her heart out in an abandoned cobblestone alley.

Ok, here we go. The bread-and-butter of any trip to Barcelona...

la Sagrada Familia! Gaudi's masterpiece of architecture is still under construction.

It's an enormous catherdral where intricate detail and bizarre symbolism run rampant.

See what I mean?

To see this thing up close it utterly staggering.

And that's just the exterior. Inside is a bit... less finished.

Here's Carl looking out a balcony. Note the crazy christmas
tree behind him.

Faith beside a wacky whatever the hell that thing is.

We had to traverse some narrow spiral staircases. I got the jump
on Faith here.

No church is too sacred to hock one off.

Isn't it amazing how much this looks like the Big Dig? I'm sure the people of
Barcelona have similar feelings.
