We arrived in Florence in the evening, and began exploring at night.
It was actually quite tough to find a place to stay here, and we had to settle
for an overly-expensive cheap hotel. Our one bad experience with bedbugs
was here in lovely Florence.

Here's the Ponte Vecchio, the only old bridge to survive WWII bombing. It's
now a haven for gold and silver smiths.

It was at night when we first came across Florence's famous Duomo. It's the
fourth-largest cathedral in the world. With it's enormous octagonal dome, amazingly
intricate multi-colored marble exterior, and stained glass-work by Donatello and
other famous Renaissance artists, this place was pretty impressive.

But not as impressive as this cool statue of Perseus with the
severed head of Medusa! Rock on!

Next morning we beagn our exploration of the city in earnest. Here's Faith
enjoying some breakfast in the little gelato shop across the street from
our hotel. Mmmm.... gelato.

After waiting in a bit of a line, we were able to get into the gigantic Uffizi Gallery.
This place houses some of the best known pieces of Renaissance artwork in the world.
This woman standing here is supposed to stop idiots like me from digitally stealing them.
Looks like I've eluded her this time with my patented silent hip-shot technique.

Ahhh... Botticelli's "Birth of Venus"...

... and DaVinci's "The Annunciation"...

... and two naked men wrestling. What sort of museum is this...

The patented silent hip-shot technique does have a few drawbacks..,
