A view from the top floor of the Uffizi.

Another shot of the Ponte Vecchio.

Another impressive piece of art from another famous Renaissance painter. Ok,
this is getting old.

So we headed back outside to the scuplture gardens near the Duomo piazza.

Here's a shot of the Duomo in daylight. Beautiful building.

The nearby baptistry is the oldest building in Florence. It's so
old Dante was actually baptized here. But it's most famous for
it's gilded bronze doors, Ghilberti's "Gates of Paradise". It's sort
of a buzz-kill when you found out that these were only copies,
and the real doors were safely somewhere else. IF you found out,
that is. We're pretty confident most of these people thought they
were looking at the real deal.

The impressive Duomo. But not as impressive as...

BLOODY HELL! That's Gordon Elliot! We caught him in town filming
a Food Network special on gelato.

We next made the long hike from the Duomo (in the background there)
to the Piazzale Michelangelo up in the hills.

A great place to take in the city,
